About Myall Lakes National Park

Located north of Newcastle, Myall Lakes National Park offers one of the state's largest coastal lake systems. It is also part of the Country of the Worimi Aboriginal people, and evidence of their long history in these parts can be seen through scarred trees, open campsites, burial grounds, stone arrangements and rock engravings. Nowadays, Myall Lakes is a popular tourist destination, owing to its scenic surrounds and rich fishing waters.

This water haven also features 40km of beach, with some excellent surfing and swimming spots. Seal Rocks Lighthouse

Constructed in 1875, the Seal Rocks Lighthouse is a heritage listed destination that today offers stunning and self-contained accommodation in the Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse cottages.


The Grandis is a 76m high flooded gum, and one of the tallest trees in NSW. Be sure to packa a picnic and enjoy a leisurely lunch beside it.

Broughton Island

Located 14km north east of Port Stephens, Broughton Island is a picturesque part of Myall Lakes National Park, and the only place in NSW where you can camp with an island seabird colony.
