The Hurley Australian Open of Surfing sporting event showcases the best in international surf talent across nine days in February. The action sports festival event also exhibits skateboarding, music, arts and fashion and has attracted crowds of over 160,000 people since the inaugural event in 2012. The Australian Open of Surfing is an extension of the world renowned US Open of Surfing and is also part of the ASP Star Events Schedule.
Sally Fitzgibbons, will return to Manly to defend her title and the Aussie is looking forward to performing to a home crowd. Other surf athletes to take part include: Julian Wilson, Adrian Buchan, Rob Machado, Lakey Peterson and Carissa Moore. Plus, skate icons Bob Burnquist, Lance Mountain and Grant Taylor.
The festival runs from February 8 - 16, 2014.
The Australian Open of Surfing is held at Manly Beach, NSW.
Manly is easily accessed by Ferry from Circular Quay in Sydney. Ferries depart every 30 minutes from Wharf No 3.
