Dwellingup is a charming town located about 1,5 hours from Perth, and is set in a pristine Jarrah forest and water catchment area, in the foothills of the coastal fringe. The beach is a short 38km drive from your forest location. Dwellingup is one of Australia’s most unique developments set in the heart of a state forest. The Dwellingup Chalets and Caravan Park is a 10 minute walk from the Dwellingup town centre. Dwellingup is an old milling town with lots of great things to see & visit. The Murray River (a must see), is an 8km drive away, situated in the Lane Poole Reserve, and is great for fresh water fishing, swimming & canoeing. The Hotham Valley Tourist Railway is very popular and runs on weekends and during school holidays. You can also book the Hotham Valley Train for an evening meal. During winter the steam train will be running. If you want to tantalise the tastebuds, you can visit two local wineries, one which also produces cider, or visit one of the local cafes or the Dwellingup Community owned Hotel to enjoy a lovely meal. The Munda Biddi Cycle trail and also the Bibbulmun Walk track pass through Dwellingup. There are also many different walking trails in the area.
