I felt the website was misleading as it portrayed grassy sites and shady trees when in fact 95% of the caravan sites were on bitumen, I was so disappointed when we arrived to see all tthat bitumen. In fairness there was a grassy shaded area behind our site. The ablution blocks were very old and grotty, I was relieved that we had a bathroom in our caravan. The park was very handy to the township but unfortunately right on the highway, by day the traffic was incessant, by night (all night) the huge transport trucks roared past. I would go to Maranup Ford next time, about 10kms out of town, grassy sites although a hilly, winding road to get there.
We stayed four nights in a caravan.Amenities blocks old but clean. Quiet park close to town and I enjoyed kayaking on the river. Would recommend for the price as was very reasonable.
We stayed overnight in a cabin overlooking the river. On arrival we were happy with the facilities for the price we paid as it was quite average but cheap. The service and greeting on arrival was almost no existent but oh well. Then came bed time..... Our cabin (no 2) had 1 double bed which unfortunately had a leg missing in the centre on one side. So when you laid in bed it sunk in the middle and tipped to that side. I spent the whole night with little sleep trying to position myself to stop from falling off the bed. When checking out in the morning reception was unattended so I had to use the radio located outside to contact someone and was told to just drop the key in the box. When I tried to discuss the bed I was not given any apology just told "oh ok I will look at it" As if he didn't know there was anything wrong. It was quite obvious he did know but didn't care. Disgusting service and I can not believe anyone would rent accommodation with a bed in that state!!!!
Beautiful location but very ordinary caravan park. Too much tar too little grass and trees.
the park offers grassy sites and trees for shade. it is located right next to the blackwood river which makes it especially beautiful. also there is a canoe hire offered and you can swim in the river. the park is very clean and has fantastic service. it is in walking distance to the lovely town of Bridgetown. Also there are two brand new family cabins available overlooking the river.
A nice stay alongside the river
