The magnificent plateau of TABLE CAPE is by far Wynyard’s most remarkable natural wonder. Sitting 180 metres high, it offers spectacular views of Tasmania’s island coast and agricultural farmlands.
ROCKY CAPE NATIONAL PARK Visit the lighthouse, Aboriginal heritage, ship wrecks, rock formations turned sideways, beautiful hills running down to the sea and an incredible variety of flowering plants. A National Parks Pass is required.
STANLEY 20 minutes West of Rocky Cape is totally restored Bass Strait fishing village with tiny, brightly painted cottages neatly terraced on the lower slopes of an extinct volcano known as The Nut. Take the chairlift, or hike, to the top of The Nut and you will be rewarded with sensational views.
Visit the beautiful white sand beach at Boat Harbour.
