Great place to stay .Owners are friendly ,quiet next to the rainforest with wallabys and scrub turkeys .Toilet block is modern and clean close to Atherton.
I have been at Tolga Caravan Park about 8 years ago and its completely change. they have a modern and clean toilets and showers now. People are very friendly. Wallabys, rabbits and turkeys come to our van at night. There is a bush walk at the back and it bring you through the sports oval. The fruits and vegetables shop including the bakery, try the sweet chili pie, coffee shop, petrol station, newsagency and post office is just a 6 minutes walk . Iga and Woolworths is only 5 mins drive. Lake Tinaroo is 10 minutes drive too. Very nice place to stay. Close to everything you need. Reasonable rate too, pay only $15 for unpowered site.
John doesn't know what he is talking about, I come to this park every year and had not seen any backpackers or other unsocial behaviour. I didn't pay any deposit, maybe he's talking about some other park.
Very nice place to stay, close to supermarket, bakery, post office. fish and chips, etc Nice people around, friendly manager, very quiet place to stay, Dog is allowed if it is only 2 weeks or less stay. We stayed 1 week and only pay 4 days at a very reasonable rate too. I will recommend this park to caravanners who wants to explore the Tablelands. Its an old caravan park but they are keeping it tidy and neat.
It like the broncs in the bush! Shame it's managed by the current owners. Living on top of one another, full of partying backpackers. Never again. They even ask for a deposit to stay in my own caravan, only park Ive seen this at in Australia...
