We stayed here mid-2016 in one of the twin rooms. Everything was tidy and the beds were comfy. There were tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge in the room as well as air-conditioning (which is very important in this neck of the woods). Oh and there's a lovely green lawn to walk barefoot on. The staff were friendly and super helpful. They even came out to have dinner with us. I would highly recommend The Lynd Oasis Roadhouse as the perfect midway stopover on a trip out west or back to the coast.

Stayed here on trip around OZ on Harley in 1995. It was the pits and has not changed according to this. Arrogant staff-duck poop over all the hand basins and floors of outside showers etc. Take my advice and plan trip to avoid a stop over if you decide to go this route!!!! Cost of food and accommodation was right up there and that was in 1995.

I made the mistake of booking in yesterday 23rd Sept. Tired after driving Mt Isa-Hughenden-Lynd I paid 120 dollars for a room without checking first. I was given a list of things to note and told where NOT to Park and where NOT to walk with the threat of being savaged by their dogs. I went to the room allocated D1 and there was no electricity. Walking back up to the kiosk along the dog free route I was told to wait while a knowledgeable staff member was summonsed. She told me the door needed to be closed before any electricity was available. Then she proceeded to lecture me from the list of do,s and don't,s. I told her I already read them and she made some insolent remark. Obviously she had been trained either by the constabulary or by Jetstar. Ok. Now we have power in this tiny cubicle but I must keep moving so the sensor doesn't switch the electricity off. About 8pm no water. Up the dog free route again and told to wait and someone would come and talk to me. Finally a grandmotherly type told me to go back to the room and she would check. Down she came, verified there was no water and took a torch out the back. Some time later I was informed that there was a busted pipe and it would be fixed. It was fixed about an hour later. These are demountable rooms that Miners are PAID extra to stay in. The only redeeming factor was the room was clean. The downside was that they reeked of some noxious deodorant. Hospitality is not a word any of the staff there are familiar with. They all seem to have had charisma and personality bypasses. No excuses for remoteness as it is an easy 3 hour drive over sealed roads to the Atherton Tablelands then another hour to Cairns. I did not risk the food and drink. Room Tip: Rooms have a window looking into the opposite room. No other outlook. See more room tips

This management of this place cannot be described it is so bad I had phoned from NZ many weeks before travelling booked a new cabin but told would not be given a price till we arrived. The sign over the front door saying Dont leave your manners in the car is an indication of the strange almost abusive and aggressive manners of the lady manager. After a long hot day visiting the most wonderful places like Gorge and Aussie bush reserves to be told hand over your credit card before you can even park your car or the WC. On arrival we were told the cabin was not available.then told you are not wanted because you asked to see the cabin without paying. We did eventually get a cabin no facilities whatever just a broken bed broken AC broken Fridge noisy shop chillers running all night for 80.00. We had just stayed at Hughenden camp with really nice owners excellent new cabins all ensuite facilities for 90.00. This is all possibly due to a major psychological problem of the owner manager. but best to avoid at all costs. The facilities are run down or reduced to a minimum. A pity because there is very few places you can stay between Hughenden and Mount Garnet best to take a tent or sleep in your car. There no signs identifying the place.
