"Sun Lodge Tourist Park is situated at Point Vernon the quieter end of Hervey Bay overlooking beautiful Gatakers Bay. All units are single storey with ocean views. They feed the lorikeets twice daily and the Park is across the road from a large area of parkland where there are kangaroos and lots of birds - a birdwatchers delight in fact.
Units Cabins and Van Sites have their own private ensuite and are set in quiet surroundings with swimming pool barbecue area and laundry.
There are two boat ramps adjacent to the park and the area is one of the best fishing spots in the Bay. They are one kilometre from the corner takeaway shop and the main shopping centre is a seven minute trip in the car. All accommodation has air conditioning fans personal ensuites and is self contained and self-catering. The van sites have power water and their own personal ensuite.
Fishing from one of Hervey Hay's landmarks, the Urangan Pier, is a popular pastime, and glass bottom boats providing great viewing of the coral reefs.
Dayman Point offers sweeping views of the Great Sandy Strait, family picnic facilities and memorials to early explorers Matthew Flinders and Joseph Dayman, and to the men of "Z" force who trained on Fraser Island for a daring World War II operation in Singapore. The Korrawinga Monument, dedicated to the Aboriginal people of Hervey Bay and Fraser Island, is a symbol of hope for the future unity of all peoples of the area., visit the Hervey Bay Historical Museum at Pialba or hire a boat and explore Woody Island National Park, halfway between Urangan and Fraser Island, with its ruined lighthouse and graves.
There are a number of attractions in and around Hervey Bay to enjoy such as Natureworld wildlife park, Neptune's Aquarium, Hervey Bay Historical Museum and the Botanical Gardens.
