Situated on one of the Island's northern beaches in the local community of Point Lookout, the camping ground is in a shady location, sheltered behind native tea tree and pandanus forests. The beach directly in front of the camping ground is patrolled during holiday periods, and there is also direct access to Home Beach and Adder Rock surf beaches.

The campground is ideally set up for school groups with pockets of campsites set apart from each other, and separated by glades of trees. Two modern undercover camp kitchens offer electric BBQ's, power outlets, sinks, and picnic tables.

Island Vibe Festival is held nearby each October. This years dates are 31 October - 2 November 2014.

Across the road is a general store and the Manta Lodge Scuba Centre. The local bowls club offering good well priced food is within walking distance. Barefoot bowls is a popular activity here. Tennis courts, a skate bowl and the Point Lookout Community Centre & library are a 5 minute walk up the road.

We stayed at adder rock ocamp site ARP01 and ARP02 last wknd and I have to say it was a disaster not only did we have backpackers drinking, swearing and partying all Night and waking our babies up but we tried to go to the reception the next day several times and no one was at the desk- we then had the ranger using a petrol blower around our babies the next morning which just topped it off-This would have to Be the worst camping experience - would have been nice to know at time of booking (we advised we had babies too) we had a backpackers across The road housings 62 backpackers nightly- pretty unfair!

My girlfriends come here 2 or 3 times a year for a girls weekend camping. The husbands don't like camping so this is our time. Each year we glamp it up a little more. This is the BEST camping place in the world. I don't want to tell too many people so it remains nice and quiet. However it is too good not to share too. The staff are always approachable, friendly , helpful and courteous. The facilities just keep getting better and better. Everything you need or want is within a short walk or drive. The beaches are perfect- every single time we've been it's been perfect. We love it and will continue to go year after year.

A great family holiday spot (even better when you invite your friends to come along!)
