This park is close to town and next to the Gloucester river. It is a basic park and has no pool, games room or en suite sites. There is a basic camp kitchen but is not at all near the camp section. Cabins are very old and basic. Very few sites have annex slabs. 2 amenities blocks are old and out dated but clean and everything works. The mini golf needs a bit of a tidy but people were playing with it when we were there. Sites are all grassed and there are many trees which drop their leaves in winter. Some permanents look a bit shabby but are not a problem. Main roads are sealed but camp area has road base gravel. Large open area suitable for groups and big rigs but is a bit of a walk to amenities. Fire drums for wood fires for hire. Dogs love to play in the river which can be accessed easily from the park. If you like good old fashioned camping with wood fires it is a great place to stay and is busy in holiday times. Woolworths and IGA in town and a museum and info centre. Thunderbolts cafe offer all day menu with yummy pizzas after 5.30 pm. Good bakery in town. A bit of a drive on good dirt roads to National parks which offer bush walks, lookouts, waterfall, historic gold mine, picnic tables and drop toilets.

We have stayed at the park for many manyyears at easter however the last two years the park has lacked general cleanliness and hygiene with regards to toilets and showers. The mould in the showers and the broken toilets and shower heads is unacceptable. We will not be returning this next easter
