Welcome to Blackheath Glen. We are situated in Blackheath, New South Wales, in the heart of the Blue Mountains. Set in secluded bushland beside the trickling waters of Pope’s Glen, you’ll be lulled to sleep at night by frogs singing, and wake in the morning to the call of Kookaburras.

You couldn’t get much closer to nature - yet the centre of Blackheath, with its galleries, parks, public swimming pool, bookshops and superb cafés, is only a short walk away.

Blackheath Glen is our best park for families, camping and large caravans, with a choice of grassy, slab or ensuite sites, and a range of cabin options.

I rang to enquire about a group booking and the staff member informed me they had availabilites. I rang the following day to confirm and this time was in touch with the owner. She was very unfriendly and judgemental. She did not take my booking and rather, interogated me by asking such questions as, 'and how old are you?' and 'and who will be sleeping with who?' and other irrelevant questions to try and find any possible excuse for her to 'legitimately' decline my booking. My custom will be her loss and another holiday park's gain.
Response from Blackheath Glen Tourist Park
We would like to provide a response to this potential guest’s review of our service when making enquiries about booking accommodation for a group of young teenagers. When the potential guest made initial contact with the Park his enquiry was quite vague, simply asking how many cabins we had available and how many people they slept. When he rang back to make a reservation he mentioned that there were more people wishing to stay at the Park than the cabins we had available accommodated. He advised that there would be twelve young teenagers from age 13, and that he would be accompanying them as the adult in charge. He sounded extremely young on the telephone, which is why he was asked how old he was. As Park Managers we have a duty of care to all guests staying in the Tourist Park and as such we have to make judgement calls which include not accepting bookings when there are more guests than can be accommodated in a particular style of cabin, and without appropriate adult supervision. We welcome organised reputable groups and have many that stay with us throughout the year. Had we had appropriate accommodation available and the children had been supervised accordingly, we would most certainly have welcomed the group. The potential guest was advised of this when he was spoken to on the telephone. Unfortunately in this instance our larger cabins were all booked out (the enquiry was for several nights between Christmas and New Year) and we are only able to offer the accommodation we have available.
